The program for the construction of 31 neighborhoods “Yangi O’zbekiston” (New Uzbekistan) was launched in 2022.

At the meeting, chaired by the President, it was noted that work in this area is being implemented at a good level in Andijan and Khorezm regions. Due to the inattention of hokims, not a single house was put into operation in the neighborhoods in Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya, Navoi and Samarkand regions, which was subjected to severe criticism.

The commissioning was delayed in “Yangi O’zbekiston” neighborhoods: in Fergana – 80, Samarkand – 36, Tashkent – 15, and Namangan – 14 houses. A reprimand was issued to the deputy hokims for the construction of Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Navoi, Namangan, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya, Fergana and Tashkent regions, the heads of regional departments of the Central Bank, and a monthly deadline was given to correct the situation.

The task was set to increase the volume of construction in 2023 by 1.5 times, bringing the number of houses to 90 thousand.
