Measures are being taken in Navoi region to almost double the volume of agricultural products.

Candidate for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted this at the meeting with Navoi voters.

As noted, first, over the next five years, 50 thousand hectares of abandoned land will be developed, horticulture and animal husbandry will develop. This will provide employment for about 35 thousand people. 50 percent of the cost of laying power lines and digging wells will be covered by the budget.

New vineyards will be created on 14 thousand hectares, as well as intensive gardens will be laid out on 5 hectares in Qiziltepa, Karmana and Khatirchi districts. More than 20 thousand people will be employed.

Modern greenhouses on 1 thousand hectares will be used in the region and mini-greenhouses will be built in 3 thousand households. This will provide employment for more than 7 thousand people.

Second, the region has pastures on 9 million hectares. There is a good opportunity for the development of animal husbandry.

On the pastures of the Kanimekh, Tamdin and Uchquduq districts, 120 unusable wells were restored at the expense of the budget.

In Tamdin, a camel breeding complex for 3 thousand heads was involved, and in Uchquduq – a horse breeding complex for 4 thousand heads.

In the Kanimekh district, 2,300 hectares of cotton and grain areas will be reduced, which will be transferred on a tender basis to new livestock projects designed for at least 500 head of livestock.

In the region, the volume of fish farming will be increased by 3 times and brought to 40 thousand tons.

Third, over the next five years, measures will be taken to improve water supply on 57 thousand hectares, and the reclamation state of 45 thousand hectares. 2,000 wells will be dug in 58 mahallas with difficult water supply conditions.

At the same time, new technologies will be introduced on an area of 106 thousand hectares and laser leveling will be established on 109 thousand hectares. This will save 500 million cubic meters of water.

At the same time, at the expense of $51 million, 20 pumping stations will be modernized.
