The Uzbekistan-Korean Potato Seed Production Center was organized at the Samarkand Institute of Agricultural Innovation and Research.

To create this center in March this year, a quadripartite agreement was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Korea Rural Community Corporation, and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Institute.

The document provides for the attraction of funds from the Republic of Korea for $4.3 million. 

On September 12-15, leading experts from the expert group of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of the Republic of Korea and Rural Community Corporation visited Samarkand.

Korean experts visited farms in the region engaged in potato seed production and studied its current state. With the participation of scientists and researchers of the Institute, training workshops were held on the prospects for improving potato seed production and organizing INVITRO laboratories and greenhouses. A bilateral memorandum on the development of the sphere was signed.

In the future, the Institute's scientists will improve their knowledge, skills, and qualifications in potato seed production at the Korean Rural Community Corporation. Professors of this country will organize practical classes for the 3rd-4th year students.
