The third forum of political parties of China and Central Asia on “Strict pursuit of development taking into account its specifics: the role and responsibilities of political parties” was held via videoconference.
It was organized following the agreement reached during the videoconference of the leaders of the Central Asian countries and China on January 25, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The event was attended by about 60 delegates from the Communist Party of China, parliaments, and political parties of Central Asia.
As was noted, in recent years, cooperation between China and Central Asia has reached a new level. In particular, inter-parliamentary and inter-party ties are enhancing, and comprehensive strategic partnerships strengthening.
The forum focused on the results of 30 years of cooperation between the Central Asian states and China, as well as regional initiatives put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The participants exchanged views on the current issues and promising priority areas of multifaceted cooperation.
First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov noted that Uzbekistan is consistently developing multilateral strategic relations, in particular inter-parliamentary ties, with China and Central Asian countries. Representatives of five political parties of the country also addressed the conference.
According to the participants, this forum opens a new stage in the development of political, economic, legal and cultural-educational ties between countries. This will serve to improve the legislative activity of parliaments, expand the possibilities for better development of documents, and bring inter-party relations to a new level. This will make it possible to form a mechanism for direct dialogue between political parties.
Following the event, common approaches to current and important issues for the parties were outlined.
