19:30 / 2022-04-04

Uzbekistan plans to produce 12 gigawatts of clean energy by 2030. To this end, the country is implementing a strategy for the development of renewable energy sources.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Government of Uzbekistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to develop large wind energy projects with a total capacity of 2000 MW.

According to the Information Policy Advisor to the Minister of Energy, Press Secretary Elmira Bekmurodova, following the document, in October 2021, the tender for the first project of the 100 MW wind farm construction program was completed.

“The second project of the program for the construction of another wind farm with a capacity of 200 MW is planned to be implemented in Beruni and Karauzak districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan through a tender to select an independent electricity producer”, said E. Bekmurodova. – To attract and select qualified investors for the implementation of the project, a two-stage tender was launched, which begins with a “Request for the submission of a set of prequalification documents” (RFQ). The Request for Proposal (RFP) process is then carried out. Investors interested in the project will submit a “Subset of Prequalification Documents” (SOQ) by 18:00 June 30, 2022.

Investors can participate in the RFQ stage via email. Interested investors will need to provide a list of email addresses (up to 5 addresses) to download the RFQ document and access the virtual data room (VDR).
