The UNDP in Uzbekistan has held a workshop on “Comparative analysis of systems and mechanisms for sustainable investment in the Aral Sea region”.
The participants discussed the most important problems of the Aral Sea region and ways to solve them. Information was provided on the activities carried out to expand production capacity and improve the welfare of the region.
It was concluded that for the development of the region, investments are needed in such sectors as agriculture, animal husbandry, industry, the fuel and energy complex, and water management.
Uzbekneftegaz specialists also took part in the workshop on “Climate risk assessment in Uzbekistan” organized by CAREC within the framework of the program to coordinate climate change and reduce its impact on the Aral Sea region.
The results and conclusions of the national climate risk and safety assessment prepared by international experts from Hydroc GmbH were discussed at the event.
