Tashkent hosted the 1st International Radiology Summit on “Radiological Diagnostics: Simple Solutions to Complex Problems”, organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the Uzbekistan Radiology Society.
The summit is attended by over 300 specialists in radiology and nuclear medicine from 15 countries and representatives of manufacturers of radiology equipment and consumables.
At the summit, Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov spoke about future reforms planned in this direction, and noted some factors hindering the development of the industry.
“The widespread use in all regions of such modern equipment as a digital X-ray machine, equipment for ultrasound, computed and magnetic resonance imaging, angiography, radiotherapy is an incentive for radiologists, as well as training qualified specialists in this field”, the Minister said. “At the same time, it was noted that the volume and quality of services provided in radiological departments do not fully meet the requirements, the capabilities of high-tech medical equipment are not fully used, and there is a lag in the introduction of modern scientific achievements.
It was noted that the Ministry of Health supports the proposal to establish the National Teleradiology Centre and the Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Center on a public-private partnership basis.
More than 100 analytical presentations on various areas of radiology were held at the summit.
