12:20 / 2024-03-14

To further develop opera and ballet art in the country, improve the activities of the State Academic Grand Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi, widely promote national opera and ballet art, and strengthen its status and place in world art, a resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for further development of opera and ballet art” was adopted. The document provides for organizing the theater team’s tours to foreign countries at least twice a year.

The trip to Kyrgyzstan is the first of those planned by the theater for 2024. A troupe of 150 people departed for this country. Also, this year, it is planned to organize tours to Türkiye and Italy.

On March 13, the Kyrgyz National Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abdylas Maldybaev will host a screening of the national opera “The Tricks of Maysara” by Suleyman Yudakov based on the work of Hamza, and on March 14 – a grand gala concert with the participation of leading soloists and the Alisher Navoi Grand Theater Symphony Orchestra.

It is worth noting that after Uzbekistan gained independence, the national comedy opera “The Tricks of Maysara” will be shown on the foreign stage for the first time. Meanwhile, it occupies a special place in the country’s musical art history.

The premiere of “The Tricks of Maysara”, directed by Vladimir Kandelaki, took place in 1959 on the stage of the Grand Theater. In 2003, the Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Khaydarali Qosimov, presented his vision of this performance, which became the best example of national opera classics.
