The Splendours of Uzbekistan’s Oases to be presented in the Louvre
On 23 November 2022, the Louvre Museum in Paris will host the opening of a large-scale exhibition “The Splendours of Uzbekistan’s Oases. At the Crossroads of Caravan Routes”.
70 items were restored by Uzbekistan and French specialists for this exhibition. The work was carried out by restorers for three years, the Arts and Culture Development Foundation reports. One of the exhibits is the head of a Kushan prince from a Buddhist shrine. It was found in 1973 during archaeological excavations near the settlement of Dalverzin-Tepe, formed during the Kushan Empire in Surkhandarya region.
