The “Solar Home” program is being implemented in Bukhara
21:19 / 2023-06-13

Renewable energy sources and energy-saving technologies are being introduced in Bukhara region.

Agreements have been signed with five companies on installing power plants with a capacity of 2,850 MW, and work has already begun. In particular, in Peshkun and Gijduvan districts, ACWA POWER is building wind farms with 300-500 MW capacity, each costing $650 million. 2,000 jobs will be created, and with the start of the operation of the stations, the power generation capacity will increase. This means that the sectors of the economy and the population will be provided with stable and high-quality energy resources. In 2023, within the framework of this project, it is planned to use $300 million of foreign investment.

Starting from April 1 this year, the country launched the “Solar Home” program to support the installation of solar panels with low power of up to 50 kW in the population’s homes. Funds from the sale of electricity by the people through the “Soliq” mobile application are transferred monthly to the plastic cards of citizens. Families’ need for electricity is met, and they also receive income from selling unused electricity.

According to the data, in 2023, under the “Solar Home” program, solar panels were installed in 738 houses in the region. By the end of the year, this figure is expected to triple.

In total, 1,701 regional facilities are provided with small solar panels with a total capacity of 13,714 kW, 790 of which are social and state facilities. This saves 8400 kW. A positive result is installing such equipment in schools and preschool education institutions.

On a regional scale, low-power solar panels have been installed at 152 entrepreneurial facilities. Among them, the most significant number are gas stations that not only use, but also sell electricity.

Most of the industrial enterprises in the region use solar panels. At Bukhara enterprise for the processing of milk and dairy products, due to such installations, they save energy and reduce the cost of production.
