On February 16 at 15:00, the fifth aircraft of the regional airline Silk Avia, which is part of the Uzbekistan Airways Group, landed at the domestic airline terminal of Tashkent International Airport.
The ATR 72-600 aircraft arrived from the Airbus factory airfield in Toulouse, France. Airport employees, airlines, and media representatives solemnly welcomed the new board and crew with a water arch.
Replenishment of the aircraft fleet means an increase in flights between the cities of Uzbekistan. Proof of this is the flights from Tashkent to Termez twice a day: in the daytime and the evening. Silk Avia plans to increase the number of flights to Bukhara soon. The ATR 72-600 is the most commercially successful design in the 60- to 90-seat turboprop segment and is positioned as the most efficient commercial airliner in history based on operating costs. The maximum take-off weight is 22,800 kg, the flight range is up to 1,528 km. The new aircraft has already been added to the schedule.
In the Silk Avia fleet, considering the delivery of the current aircraft, there are five ATR 72-600 regional passenger aircraft with a capacity of up to 72 passengers. Silk Avia currently connects nine Uzbekistan cities: Tashkent, Bukhara, Karshi, Navoi, Namangan, Samarkand, Termez, Fergana, and Urgench.
