The signed document to further develop inter-parliamentary cooperation

The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova.

The parties focused on Uzbekistan and Belarus continuing active political dialogue and constructive cooperation on international platforms.

It was emphasized that representatives of the two countries’ parliaments actively interact within the framework of international parliamentary organizations such as the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

In addition, emphasis was placed on the activities of the two countries’ friendship groups. Work in this direction was considered, and the commission was renamed the Inter-Parliamentary Commission of the Senate for Cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

The parties also discussed cooperation issues in lawmaking, gender and youth policy, the exchange of experience in education and medicine, the expansion of regional ties, and the digital development of regions.

The parties also discussed the essence and significance of holding the Uzbekistan – Belarus Women’s Business Forum.

The heads of the chambers of parliament of the two countries, with the participation of representatives of the delegation, signed an Action Plan for the development of cooperation between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus for 2024-2025.
