As part of the International Partnership Initiatives Week “New Uzbekistan: Development, Innovation and Enlightenment”, a business forum of women entrepreneurs was held with the participation of foreign and local business women, specialists, and experts.

At the forum, a demonstration of clothing models of Uzbek brands that received international recognition took place.

Foreign experts emphasized the measures taken in Uzbekistan to ensure equality between men and women, combat violence, and the reforms being implemented by the government to support women.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zulaykho Mahkamova also dwelled on the reforms being implemented in the country to support women.

“Almost 305,000 women who want to start a labor and entrepreneurial activity were trained in popular specialties at “Ishga Markhamat” monocenters and vocational schools. Over the past 2.5 years, 473,659 women have been employed permanently. More than 230 thousand women are involved in public works. Currently, 14,693 women have become members of the Hunarmand Association, with 21,879 students attached to them. Our goal is to support women entrepreneurs with the help of the system created in our country”, Ms. Mahkamova said.
