22:21 / 2024-01-17

The Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting to further intensify dialogue with youth in the Year of Support for Youth and Business.

At the meeting organized as part of the project “The Role of Youth in Parliament”, senators and members of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP talked with talented youth.

During the dialogue, explanations were given about the main activities of the Senate, particularly the powers of the upper house of parliament, the legal basis for the activities of senators, their rights and responsibilities, and some aspects of parliamentary control over the implementation of laws.

It was also noted that today, the priority areas of parliamentary activity are adopting current laws, ensuring the implementation of government programs, exercising parliamentary control, and increasing the accountability of executive authorities and officials to the people.

Participants received answers to several questions regarding the Senate’s cooperation with local councils and youth and the importance of regional interests when discussing laws.

The meeting became a dialogue platform for forming young people’s practical and theoretical skills.
