Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Uzbekistan Regina Maria Castillo.

The parties exchanged views on the projects implemented by Uzbekistan in partnership with UN institutions, including UNICEF, and their further activation and expansion.

In particular, the cooperation of Uzbekistan with UNICEF on ensuring the rights of children, strengthening the health of mothers and children, improving the quality of education, and improving the healthcare system was discussed.

The focus was on issues of social protection of children, the implementation of inclusive projects for children with disabilities, and the training of personnel and regular advanced training in this area.

Following the dialogue, an agreement was reached on developing cooperation programs to promote healthy lifestyles and proper nutrition in schools and preschool education institutions.
