20:22 / 2025-02-14

Uzbekistan is widely celebrating the 542nd anniversary of an exceptional historical figure – Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur’s birth, a great poet, encyclopedist, statesman, and skilled military commander who left an indelible mark on world history.

His invaluable scientific and literary heritage holds a special place not only in shaping national culture and literary-aesthetic thought but also in the history of world literature, science, and state governance.

These topics were discussed during the roundtable “The Role of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur’s Legacy in Turkic Literature”, held at the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by committee leadership, officials from the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, experts from the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, members of the Writers’ Union, leaders of national cultural centers, and young participants.

A Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Azamat Toshev, emphasized that Babur’s unique poetry, which provides detailed insights into the way of life, traditions, nature, and values of Eastern peoples while calling individuals toward self-improvement, plays a crucial role in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and commitment to independence. He stressed the importance of promoting and honoring Babur’s noble ideas.

The central part of the event focused on discussions about Babur’s life and work, with a particular emphasis on the historical, cultural, and ethnographic details of various peoples recorded in the works of the righteous ruler and great poet.
