The session “Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection: The Role of Parliaments in Implementing Ecological Initiatives” was organized as part of the Third Meeting of the Heads of Parliaments of the Central Asian States and the Republic of Korea.

Issues of promoting environmental policy, coordinating legislative initiatives, and strengthening regional cooperation were discussed at the event.

The participants highlighted the role of parliaments in implementing environmental initiatives, improving the legislative framework to protect the environment, and the responsibility of legislative bodies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The participants also exchanged views on strengthening the institutional role of parliaments in implementing national environmental policy.

During the discussion, participants emphasized the need to expand inter-parliamentary cooperation on environmental protection, climate change, and sustainable development.
