A workshop on “Nuclear energy: Building infrastructure in cooperation with stakeholders” took place at the Uzatom Agency.

Specialists from the Uzatom Agency, employees of the NPP Construction Directorate, representatives of the private sector, and research institutes attended the event.

Kelle Barfield, U.S. Nuclear Stakeholder Engagement Expert, spoke in detail about the role of nuclear energy in ensuring the economic development of the country.

During the discussions, special attention was paid to the implementation of national programs in nuclear energy, establishing effective interaction with stakeholders and infrastructure development.

According to experts, the joint creation of infrastructure is a crucial factor in the sustainable and safe development of the industry. This will allow the exchange of knowledge, technologies, and resources, increase human resources, and introduce best practices. As a result of such cooperation, it is possible to achieve safety standards, environmental requirements, and economic efficiency in the implementation of projects in nuclear energy.

The IAEA expert also noted the best practices of the United States, effective solutions applied in practice, and methods of involving stakeholders in the development of the industry.
