Tashkent hosted a discussion on the draft Strategy for the introduction of gender approaches in the development of agriculture and the action plan of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which was prepared as part of the FAO project on supporting the implementation of inclusive agricultural policy.

The document was developed with the participation of national and international experts, including specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture and the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia.

The strategy for the introduction of gender approaches in the development of agriculture and the action plan of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan are being developed within the framework of the project together with specialists from the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia. When creating the document, special attention was paid to the empowerment of women regarding access to the ownership and disposal of land, production and natural resources, as well as financial services and specialized knowledge.

At the event, issues related to the content of the strategy, as well as the next steps for its implementation and the obligations of the parties were discussed.
