The role and significance of the Great Silk Road

A cultural and commercialization event “Charm of the Silk Road” was held at the Central Exhibition Hall, on the initiative of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Design named after Kamoliddin Bekhzod.

The event was attended by representatives of state and non-state agencies operating in the art and culture of the country, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps.

As is known, the Great Silk Road, which has been of great importance for international trade relations between East and West since ancient times, laid the foundation for the development of culture, arts and crafts. Chinese porcelain and silk fabrics, Iranian carpets, Samarkand paper became famous all over the world thanks to the Great Silk Road.

The event is organized to present the charm of the Great Silk Road, which has not lost its historical and cultural significance even today, familiarize with the areas of education at the National Institute of Fine Arts and Design named after Kamoliddin Bekhzod by demonstrating the art and culture of the countries of the ancient trade route, past and present of Uzbekistan.
