The results of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the SCO
At a reception in Beijing, the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Zhang Ming and the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the People’s Republic of China Farkhod Arziyev summed up the results of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the SCO, CGTN reports.
“During Uzbekistan’s chairmanship, almost 90 high-level events were successfully held. Moreover, several new cooperation mechanisms have been created in such areas as poverty alleviation, physical culture and sports, and other areas. In Samarkand, the SCO presidency passed to India”, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming said.
In turn, Farkhod Arziyev emphasized that during Uzbekistan’s chairmanship, several priorities for cooperation within the SCO were put forward, taking into account the new realities – this is primarily trading, industrial and technological cooperation, strengthening economic and transport connectivity, innovation, digital transformation and the green economy.
