Samarkand hosted the Second Forum of Rectors of Universities of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The two-day forum was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kungirotboy Sharipov, the Minister of Higher Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, heads of more than 60 universities of the two countries, and senior officials of ministries and agencies.

After the completion of discussions and exchange of views, the rectors of the universities of the two countries signed about 30 memorandums of understanding, agreements, and roadmaps providing for the exchange of professors, teachers, and students, the organization of mutual educational processes, improving the quality of education, and expanding ties in the development of joint academic programs.

The resolution of the Second Forum of University Rectors of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan was adopted. Samarkand State University will cooperate with the Kyrgyz State Technical University, Samarkand State Medical University with the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, and ADAM University of Kyrgyzstan.

The forum participants visited Samarkand State University and Samarkand State Medical University, where they got acquainted with the created conditions, educational programs, and scientific research conducted by students.

The forum participants visited places of worship and historical monuments of Samarkand.
