The Presidential Resolution “On additional measures to develop the protection, scientific study and promotion of intangible cultural heritage” was adopted.

In accordance with the document, the following priority directions for further development of careful preservation, scientific study, and promotion of intangible cultural heritage in Uzbekistan are identified:

comprehensive protection of intangible cultural heritage, as well as identification, inclusion in lists, digitalization, promotion, and preservation of its samples with the involvement of the general public;

further development of protection, scientific study, and promotion of the arts of maqom and bakhshi;

achieving inclusion in international lists of unique and endangered examples of intangible cultural heritage and best practices in heritage protection within the framework of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage;

organization of ethno-folklore expeditions at the national and international level, support for scientific research;

organization of the study of intangible cultural heritage at all stages of education and training qualified personnel for this area.

Stage productions and folklore theatrical performances will be created with the participation of famous masters of the bakhshi art and animated films for children.

State orders to study samples of intangible cultural heritage, particularly research on the arts of maqom and bakhshi, will be formed based on competitions.
