The priority directions of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy analyzed

The Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a roundtable discussion on the priorities of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.

Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Akmal Saidov, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration Adham Bekmurodov, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Roli Asthana addressed the event.

“The principle “New Uzbekistan is a social state” is being formed in our society”, Mrs. Narbayeva said. – This, in turn, requires the regulation of social, economic, political and legal relations, creating the need for constitutional reform in our country. Moreover, based on the current global and regional situation, it is necessary to adequately respond to the impact of internal and external threats and crises and to adequately deal with modern challenges and threats. In this sense, it is more important than ever to improve the constitutional and legal foundation for the development of society.

Mr. Norov noted that Uzbekistan, under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is implementing an open, consistent and deeply thought-out foreign policy course that allows to effectively promote the national interests of the country and adequately respond to modern international challenges.

The participants of the meeting discussed in detail the current and priority areas of the foreign policy of New Uzbekistan, as well as large-scale reforms and achievements of the country, taking into account modern challenges and threats.

The measures taken and initiatives aimed at promoting a positive international image of New Uzbekistan in foreign policy, ensuring the authoritative position of the country in the world community, its high status in prestigious international rankings were considered.
