On April 23, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed sincere condolences and words of support to the Leader and brotherly people of Kazakhstan in connection with the loss of life as a result of large-scale floods on the territory of Kazakhstan.

It was emphasized that such natural disasters are the consequences of recent negative climate changes in our region.

An agreement was reached to continue close practical interaction in this direction.

The Presidents discussed current issues of further enhancing good neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the context of implementing agreements reached during a recent working meeting in the city of Khiva.

Issues on the regional agenda and the schedule of the upcoming high-level events were also discussed.
