On August 20, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of OTP Bank, Sándor Csányi, in Budapest.

The President of Uzbekistan noted with particular satisfaction the successful implementation of the first significant business cooperation project with Hungary – the entry of OTP Bank into the Uzbekistan market.

It was emphasized that the successful privatization of Ipoteka Bank became an important signal and increased interest in Uzbekistan from foreign investors.

At the meeting, issues of enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation in the development of Uzbekistan’s banking and financial sector, including improving the quality of services, and introducing innovative and affordable products, primarily for business, were discussed.

The importance of launching effective financial instruments to support and promote joint projects as soon as possible, including industrial cooperation, agriculture, and other priority sectors, was noted.

The Head of the bank, Sándor Csányi, sincerely thanked the Leader of Uzbekistan for creating favorable conditions for expanding the investment activities of Hungarian companies.
