On April 27, as part of the Second Tashkent International Investment Forum program, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) Olga Algayerova.

Issues of developing multifaceted cooperation with the UN institutions, including the ECE, on the accelerated achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, were considered.

The fruitful interaction within the framework of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia was noted with satisfaction. Interest was expressed in continuing a productive exchange on Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization and implementing the “Yashil Makon” (Green Space) program, projects for digitalizing cargo transportation and the textile industry.

Issues of further enhancing cooperation with the UNECE in priority areas were discussed at the meeting.
