The President of Uzbekistan meets with the head of DFC

On November 6, as part of his business agenda in Washington, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Ben Black, Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

DFC is the United States’ national development institution, mobilizing private capital to implement infrastructure and industrial projects in developing countries.

At the meeting, the active high-level contacts and the expansion of trade and investment cooperation were noted with satisfaction. Major joint initiatives are currently under consideration across energy, critical minerals, finance, transport, agriculture, and IT.

Particular attention was given to deepening the practical partnership. Specific steps were discussed to accelerate the establishment of a joint investment platform to finance priority projects, support small businesses, and open a regional office of the corporation in Tashkent.

The Head of State also emphasized the importance of the corporation’s participation in implementing infrastructure projects based on public-private partnerships.
