As part of the business agenda of his working visit to Washington, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Shilpan Amin, Global Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer of General Motors.

The meeting focused on expanding long-term cooperation with the global corporation. The important role and contribution of General Motors in the development and diversification of Uzbekistan’s automotive industry were highlighted.

Over the past five years, the company has produced 1.6 million vehicles, with Uzbekistan becoming the second-largest market for the Chevrolet brand after the United States and the leader in sales across Central Asia and the CIS.

Particular attention was given to developing production cooperation, expanding the product range, and deepening localization.

The parties also discussed prospects for implementing joint projects in the field of new technologies and raw materials essential for modern mechanical engineering.
