President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has left for Beijing August 19 on a state visit at the invitation of President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has left for Beijing August 19 on a state visit at the invitation of President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.

Meetings with the Chinese leadership are expected to include discussion of the current state and prospects of bilateral relations. The upcoming talks are to serve for the exchange of views on key aspects of the course on enhancement of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China. The two sides are to deliberate also on regional and international issues of shared interest.

The negotiations are anticipated to produce a joint declaration and a number of intergovernmental and other documents dedicated to the further consolidation of the Uzbek-Chinese cooperation across a variety of spheres.
