The President of the Republic of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, who is in Uzbekistan on an official visit, visited the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent.
The distinguished guest was accompanied by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov.
Santiago Peña also visited the Hall of the Holy Quran and became familiar with one of the most significant spiritual relics of the Islamic world – the Mushaf of Uthman. The considerable importance of this unique manuscript in the history of Islam and world culture was noted.
In addition, the Paraguayan delegation reviewed the sections “Pre-Islamic Civilizations”, “The Era of the First Renaissance”, “The Era of the Second Renaissance”, and “New Uzbekistan – A New Renaissance”. These sections broadly present the heritage of great scholars such as Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, Abu Mansur Maturidi, Bahauddin Naqshband, as well as unique manuscript editions dating back to the eras of the Samanids, Karakhanids, Khwarezmshahs, Timurids, and other dynasties.
President Santiago Peña emphasized that this complex opens up new opportunities for international scientific research, educational, and cultural cooperation.
It was noted that strengthening cultural dialogue and spiritual closeness is increasingly vital amid contemporary global challenges.
High appreciation was expressed for the large-scale efforts underway in Uzbekistan to preserve, study, and promote its historical heritage.
