A delegation led by the President of Mongolia visited the Ichan Kala complex in Khiva.
The Ichan Kala complex, which is called an open-air museum, is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. 104 years ago, the museum-reserve, covering an area of 26 hectares, began operating, and it includes 58 historical monuments. In 2020, the city was declared the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, and in 2024, the Tourist Capital of the Islamic World.
The exhibits stored in the museum attract the attention of local and foreign tourists.
During the visit, the high-ranking guest examined historical monuments – the Kalta Minor, the Ark Fortress, the Mausoleum of Pakhlavan Mahmud, the Islam Khoja Minaret, the Juma Mosque, and the Tash-Khovli Palace.
Folk groups and theatrical performances were organized in honor of the guests on the ancient streets of Ichan Kala.
The delegation’s representatives talked with employees of the museum-reserve, tourists, and artisans working on the territory.
Information about the history, rich culture, and art of Khorezm and its contribution to the development of science left a vivid impression on the guests.
The state visit of the President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to Uzbekistan continues.
