The President of Kazakhstan meets with the President of Iran

As part of the SCO Summit in Samarkand, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi. This was reported by the Press Service of the Head of Kazakhstan.

During the conversation, the importance of developing the potential of the Kazakhstan – Turkmenistan – Iran railway line to further increase the transit traffic. The need to use the opportunities of regular ferry traffic between the ports of the countries in the Caspian Sea was noted.

President Tokayev welcomed Iran’s desire to become a full member of the SCO and expressed confidence that the accession of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Organization would strengthen regional cooperation and give new impetus to its work.

In turn, President Raisi reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening cooperation, noting the wide opportunities for trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
