On August 22, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and other officials met the distinguished guests at Tashkent International Airport.

The two countries’ national flags were raised, and a guard of honor was lined up to honor the distinguished guests.

The main events of the visit will take place tomorrow, August 23.

In accordance with the program of the stay in Tashkent, high-level talks and the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council, chaired by the leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, are planned.

The Presidents are also envisaged to hold a joint meeting with business representatives of the two countries and participate in several business and cultural events.
