The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Muslim Board, Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiknazar.
The Head of state inquired about the progress of preparations for the holy Hajj pilgrimage, the conditions created for compatriots, their health and mood.
Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiknazar conveyed to Shavkat Mirziyoyev the greetings and wishes of pilgrims in sacred places.
It was noted that this year, the Hajj events are organized at a high level and proceed in an orderly manner. Regional Hajj centers work harmoniously. With the support of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Committee for Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Health, and other organizations, all conditions were created for pilgrims.
Currently, about 12,000 of our compatriots are in Saudi Arabia. A total of 15,130 citizens will be able to make the pilgrimage. They are accompanied by 300 group leaders, 50 doctors of the highest category, cooks, translators, and other assistants.
The Saudi authorities highly appreciated such attention and conditions and expressed respect and gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan.
This year, an innovation was the Khatam performance, the reciting of the Quran, organized by religious leaders and readers in Saudi Arabia. To date, 1,515 readings have been performed with prayers for peace in the country and the well-being of people.
The President wished our compatriots a successful completion of the sacred pilgrimage and a safe return to their homeland. He expressed hope that after returning, the pilgrims will help strengthen the atmosphere of kindness and care in our society, fight ignorance through enlightenment, educate youth, and strengthen family values.
The conversation took place in a warm and sincere atmosphere.
