On October 16, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Samarkand region to attend the anniversary session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization.

Upon arrival, the President of Uzbekistan visited the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari. Surahs from the Quran and duas were recited.

The renovation of the complex is currently ongoing. The President got acquainted with the progress of construction and finishing work.

During the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will address the opening ceremony of the UNWTO Summit. It is also planned to meet with the Secretary-General of the organization Zurab Pololikashvili and get acquainted with the tourism industry exhibition.
