10:01 / 2023-09-02

The feature film “Abdulla Oripov”, dedicated to the 32nd Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan, was presented in the Cinema House in Tashkent.

This film, created on the initiative of the Head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev, tells about the bright and, at the same time, difficult life path of the Hero of Uzbekistan, people’s poet Abdulla Oripov.

– In recent years, much attention has been paid to our cinematography, – said Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director General of the Cinematography Agency. – The most modern technical equipment is being introduced into the industry. The Uzbekfilm Studio is equipped in an entirely new way. The Tashkent branch of the Russian State Institute of Cinematography has been functioning for the third year already. The Tashkent International Film Festival, held under the motto “Pearl of the Silk Road”, has been revived. The cinema “Renaissance” was recently put into operation. These days, by the decree of the President, about 20 film workers were awarded high titles, orders, and medals of our country. A striking example of such attention is creating a feature film about the famous poet of our people, the Hero of Uzbekistan Abdulla Oripov. A large creative team worked on its shooting for two years. Therefore, we would like to thank the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, the administration of the Kashkadarya region, the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, and many other organizations that collaborated during the filming. During the filming, we visited the places where our poet lived and studied. We relied on the advice of writers, literary critics, experts, and the closest people to the poet.

– First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the President, who initiated this film and carefully followed all the processes of creating the film to the end, – said the spouse of the poet Khanifa Mustafayeva. – I thank the filmmakers for their hard and detailed work. When I learned about the filming of my husband, I experienced pride, excitement, and pain. I don’t know what Mr. Abdulla would say if he saw this film. He lived and worked for his people, for his Motherland. The most precious day for him was the day of the declaration of Independence. The film was ready for the 32nd Anniversary of our country’s independence. I used to see my husband mainly in a family setting. Thanks to this film, we saw the image of the poet at work and in public. In this regard, I discovered aspects I did not know about. The film was able to reveal the sad silence and inner state of the poet.

The film was shot by the Cinematography Agency under the State Unitary Enterprise of Documentary and Newsreel Film Studio together with such partner organizations as the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, the administration of Kashkadarya region, the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment.

The painful experiences of the poet on the way to the independence of the Motherland, his poems, and the collision with various pressures are very impressively revealed. At the same time, the viewer will not be left indifferent by the historical scenes, which tell about the attacks on our national values, native language, the celebration of Navruz, the declaration of independence, and the creation of the National Anthem of Uzbekistan. Notably, the film absorbed with great skill the transformations taking place in our country, the attention and care shown to our literature, and the creative intelligentsia.

The film shows the true essence of the poet – how he tirelessly and selflessly worked for the good of the country, and with great efforts, he won every drop of his success and prosperity.
