The 13th Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road” has come to an end, which was attended by representatives of cinematography from almost 50 countries.

The documentaries and short films presented at the film festival once again demonstrated how multifaceted and diverse the art of cinema is.

“The event was very well organized”, says Umesh Mehra, a film director from India. “This proves once again that under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country is taking all measures to develop cinematography. The festival has contributed to strengthening cooperation between filmmakers”.

As the director and screenwriter from Georgia Dato Dzhanelidze notes, such communication, exchange of ideas and experience are very important for representatives of creativity and art.

“The Tashkent International Film Festival has surpassed all our expectations”, says producer from Belarus Vladimir Karachevsky. – The congratulatory message of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the participants inspired everyone. We have witnessed that Uzbek cinematography is on the path of rapid development. We are very grateful to the Government of Uzbekistan and the organizers for holding the festival at such a high level.

“Following the film festival, more than 20 best films were awarded statuettes, valuable prizes and cash prizes”, says Timur Bekmambetov, a Russian film director, chairman of the jury of the film festival. – The main prize – the Grand Prix of the festival went to Sherzod Nazarov from Uzbekistan for the film “Silk Road”.

The closing ceremony of the film festival was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov.
