On the eighth day of the 12th World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, India, another representative from Uzbekistan won a gold medal.
Temurbek Giyazov, a member of the Uzbekistan national team, won gold in the men’s high jump in the T64 class, with a score of 2.03 meters. Thus, the 29-year-old athlete managed to update his personal best.
Jonathan Broom-Edwards (2 m) from the UK became the silver medalist, and Praveen Kumar (2 m) from India became the bronze medalist in this discipline.

The national team of Brazil leads with 12 gold, 18 silver, and 7 bronze medals. China (9-18-14) and Poland (8-2-5) occupied the following places.
Iran won 7 gold medals, while para-athletes from Colombia, India, the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, and Thailand each won 6 gold medals.
Uzbekistan’s paraathletes have 5 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals, which allows them to occupy the 13th place among almost 100 participating countries.
