The number of Japanese tourists to be increased

During the visit of Uzbekistan delegation to Japan, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov held talks with Executive Vice President of ANA Alliances and International Affairs Junichiro Miyagawa.

The issues of opening direct flights from Japan to the historical cities of Uzbekistan, prospects for increasing the flow of Japanese tourists, as well as the implementation of projects in the tourism sector were discussed at the meeting organized with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan.

According to the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, the Japanese side was informed about the rich tourism potential of Uzbekistan and the cardinal reforms carried out in the sphere. In particular, the measures taken in the country aimed at liberalizing the civil aviation market, the introduction of an open sky regime, as well as advantages in the service sector were discussed. Special attention was paid to the creation of a new modern airport terminal in Samarkand and the Silk Road Samarkand International Tourist Complex.

Following the talks, it was decided to hold events to promote the tourism potential of Uzbekistan in Japan with the support of the JATA Japan Association of Travel Agents. It is also planned to organize an InfoTour with the participation of foreign travel companies and media representatives.
