At the “Government Hour”, held in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the deputies discussed the ongoing work to ensure the implementation of the tasks set by the “Digital Uzbekistan-2030” Strategy.

Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sh. Shermatov answered the deputies' questions on this issue.

“Information technologies take a more and more important place in our life”, says Mr. Shermatov. – Based on the Strategy “Digital Uzbekistan-2030”, there are seven branches of IT Park, three temporary branches. There are 31 million Internet users in the country. The number of mobile Internet users is 29,5 million people. Also, over the past two years, 22,300 additional base stations were installed, their total number reached 54,000. The level of mobile communication coverage reached 99%, and broadband mobile Internet coverage – 98%.

An agreement was reached to ensure effective parliamentary control over the agenda.
