At a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was noted that expanding passenger air traffic at Shakhrisabz Airport is necessary.
From January 1 next year, flights of new ATR aircraft will be established here, and the number of local flights to Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, and the valley regions will be increased. The number of flights on the Tashkent – Karshi route is planned to increase from 2 to 7 per week. As a result, the cost of air tickets will decrease by half, and the flow of foreign and local tourists will increase three times.
The responsible officials were instructed to soften the requirements for crossing the Takhtaqoracha pass.
Next year, construction of a new tunnel and road will begin on this pass. Together with Chinese investors, the 30-kilometer road connecting Samarkand with Shakhrisabz will be repaired.
Also, $122.5 million will be raised to repair part of the 100-kilometer Guzar – Bukhara – Nukus – Beyneu road passing through Kashkadarya region.
Next year, the goal is to increase the number of foreign tourists to 500 thousand.
