The number of export-oriented companies among the residents of the IT Park has reached 727 – more than a third. In May, the number of export-oriented residents increased by 42.
According to IT Park, 26 of them were created with the participation of foreign capital. The founders of the new exporters were investors from the USA, UK, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Estonia, Lithuania, South Korea, China, and others. There is a growing interest in the IT sector in Uzbekistan and eastern countries. Companies from China, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia are setting up subsidiaries here to outsource key processes.
For example, the ZTE Regional Service Center has opened an office in Uzbekistan, which will provide consulting, software development, and testing services. At first, it plans to focus on the markets of China and Kazakhstan with the prospect of expanding. Saudi Arabia’s DataVolt will build a data center in Tashkent. It has already hired the first local staff.
At the same time, 10 graphic designers from Uzbekistan started working in the Korean WEAYYA subsidiary, and by the end of the year the company plans to hire 30 more and export services worth $1 million.
Kobiz Alliance offers access to autonomous platforms of water treatment plants. The company will primarily provide outsourcing services to Korean customers. It expects to employ 515 people and bring exports to $3 million.
The new exporters plan to sell services worth $28.7 million abroad by the end of the year. They are expected to create jobs for 1,200 Uzbekistan people.
