The number of educational institutions increases
At the beginning of 2018/2019 school year, the number of educational institutions in Uzbekistan was 9774 units, of which 6044 units (62%) are in rural areas, 3730 units (38%) – in urban areas.

Compared with the corresponding period last year, the number of educational institutions increased by 0.6% (56%).
According to the State Statistics Committee, since the beginning of 2018/2019 school year, 360.2 thousand students are receiving education in higher educational institutions, of which 159.4 thousand are girls. 22.1% students are studying on a state grant basis, 77.9% on a paid contract basis.
