Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, met with the UNICEF Representative to Uzbekistan, Regina Maria Castillo.

The parties addressed issues related to further development of bilateral cooperation, protecting children’s and youth’s rights, and improving the social protection system.

At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on ensuring quality education in schools and preschool education institutions, strengthening social protection mechanisms for children, and further expanding cooperation in professional development for specialists. 

The parties agreed to elevate cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNICEF to a new level, work together on implementing existing projects more effectively, and promote new initiatives to protect children’s rights. 

The importance of further strengthening collaboration to create opportunities for the sustainable development of children and youth was emphasized.
