The navigation corridor will save aviation fuel
21:57 / 2024-07-15

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have jointly introduced a new navigation corridor.

According to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on July 11, new sections of the T-916 zone navigation route were officially announced and put into operation for aircraft flights. The first user of the corridor became the German airline Lufthansa.

The new corridor reduces the route’s length to 40 kilometers and allows airlines to save 30 to 50 tons of aviation fuel per year on daily flights. Oxygen consumption is also reduced by 50-70 tons, and emissions of harmful carbon dioxide into the atmosphere are reduced by 220-250 tons.

According to forecasts, more than 30 airlines plan to operate flights on a new optimized route per day.
