Tashkent hosted “The most exemplary commission of citizens gathering on public control and consumer rights protection” republican competition. It was held for the first time by the Federation of Societies on Consumer Rights Protection of Uzbekistan, the Republican Council for Coordinating Activities of Civil Society Institutions, the Ministry of Culture and other organizations.

The competition was organized for improving the legal and consumer culture of the population, preventing the sale of low-quality goods and services on the market that can harm human life and health, ensuring public control in the sphere of increasing the responsibility of service organizations, further intensifying activities on strengthening payment discipline, wide propaganda of legislative acts concerning the sphere.

The first place was taken by the Commission on public control and consumer rights protection of Uchkurgan district in Namangan region. The second place was taken by a commission of “Dustlik” makhalla citizens gathering in Fergana region, and the third place by a commission of “Qoryogdi” makhalla citizens gathering in the city of Tashkent.

The winners were awarded with special diplomas, as well as certificates for cash consideration, allocated by the Federation of Societies on Consumer Rights Protection in order to improve the material and technical provision of the commissions.
