The Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Amrillo Inoyatov met with the U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick and USAID representatives in Uzbekistan.

According to the Ministry, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in healthcare.

As noted, Uzbekistan is grateful to the United States for the practical assistance provided during the coronavirus pandemic. In particular, vaccines supplied by the United States under the COVAX program to combat COVID-19 were of great importance in stabilizing the epidemiological situation in the country and ensuring public health.

At the meeting, the parties agreed on the implementation of joint programs for the development of medical education, including the establishment of cooperation between U.S. medical universities and specialized universities in Uzbekistan, the training and advanced training of doctors and nurses.
