The Chairperson of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan, Gayane Umerova, and the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Eldiyor Toshmatov, met with the Secretary-General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Rebeca Greenspan, in Switzerland.

The parties discussed the prospects and importance of developing creative industries, which are one of the fundamental elements of sustainable development. They also discussed the possibility of jointly publishing a special review on the creative economy dedicated to Uzbekistan.

The Foundation has been invited to the annual UNCTAD Expert Meeting on Trade, Services and Development, which will take place on July 10-12 in Geneva. Rebeca Greenspan was invited to the Fourth World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) entitled “Inclusively Creative: A Shifted Reality”, which will be held in Tashkent on October 2-4, 2024.
