The Representative Office of the Hanns Seidel Foundation has started its activity in Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan, the heads of the Public Service Development Agency and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Ministries of Justice, Foreign Affairs, Employment and Poverty Reduction, several international organizations and foundations.

The Representative Office of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Uzbekistan was registered as an NGO at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 29 October 2021. Its main goal is to promote the development of public administration and civil service, administrative reforms, and the integration of non-governmental organizations into this process based on the experience of Germany.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Project Manager of the Hanns Seidel Foundation for Central Asia, Dr. Max Georg Meier. A short video about the Foundation’s activities in Uzbekistan was demonstrated.

A folklore group and a group from the German cultural center “Wiedergeburt” performed for the guests.
